Proxy settings in Mozilla Firefox

    This guide will tell you how to set up or disable using a proxy server in the browser Mozilla Firefox. Guide written by the example of version 45.0.2, but it is suitable for other versions.

    Clearing cookies in the Mozilla Firefox

    Note! Even if you use an anonymous proxy server, information about you may be transmitted to the server to which you will use cookies, therefore always clear cookies before configuring the browser to work through the proxy server.

    To delete all cookies stored on your computer do the following:
    1. Click the menu button [​IMG] , choose History, and then Clear Recent History....
    2. Set Time range to clear to Everything.
    3. Click on the arrow next to Details to expand the list of history items.
    4. Select Cookies and make sure that other items you want to keep are not selected.

    To access proxy settings in Mozilla Firefox, click on Firefox’s menu and go to Options.


    Click the "Advanced" icon at the left side of the Preferences window, click the "Network" tab at the top of the window, and then click the "Settings" button under Connection.


    Select "Manual proxy configuration" and enter your proxy server settings in the boxes here. Enter the address of the proxy server you want to use for normal browsing connections in the "HTTP Proxy" box. You’ll also need to enter the port the proxy server uses in the "Port" box.

    Also click the "Use the proxy server for all protocols" option. Firefox will use your HTTP proxy server for SSL-encrypted HTTPS connections.

    Cancel proxy in Mozilla Firefox

    To stop using the proxy in Mozilla Firefox, set "No proxy" in the "Connection Settings" window and click "OK".
